Howdy Kids,

This month's newsletter focuses on server wide password strength. Lately we have seen an increased attempt to gain unauthorized access to our servers from countries and parts of the world that I can only describe as "sketchy." In an effort to protect ourselves we have done several security audits. Unfortunately the Internet is still in its infancy and global laws are far behind the technology. One long term ROCKHOST.COM customer is personally predicting international firewalls, an idea which I find very appealing.

Nonetheless, in the meantime we are going to beef up the strength of all passwords on each of our servers. Weak passwords are the #1 cause for abuse. Please consider this fair warning that you may be asked to update your password the next time you login to the Client Portal, WHM, cPanel, Webmail, or Centova Cast. Yes, kind of a pain, but well worth the hassle.

Thanks as always,

Seth Christian Cole [Owner Operator] - ROCKHOST.COM
