Alright Kids,

Let's skip the nonsense this month and get straight down to business. Several of you have been inquiring about the security warnings visible during first time connections to open ports on the server. cPanel self-signs certificates annually to different services in order to encrypt the end user's data stream. However, there is no third party validation. If you would like to purchase an SSL Certificate from an authority such as GeoTrust, Comodo, or VeriSign (now Symantec) please open a sales ticket. Installation will remove any trust disclaimers or doubts. Naturally, this is the course of action ROCKHOST.COM has taken to lock the Client Portal.

Attached is a partial screenshot of a Firefox browser alert as an example. Although, you could receive similar messages through FTP or mail progs.

Firefox Untrusted Connection Example

That's it, just a quick hitter this month.

Thanks as usual,
